Filmmaker Gary Hustwit, has announced the subject of his third design documentary. Urbanized will focus on the design of cities and the issues of urban planning. The film will complete what Hustwit has referred to as his “design trilogy,” joining 2007’s Helvetica and 2009’s Objectified. Wednesday is shaping up to be a very special day for creatives. 3 of my previous guests, Fabio Sasso of Abduzeedo, Nick Campbell, AKA The Greyscale Gorilla, and James White of Signal Noise are doing live shows of their own now, in addition to myself and Justin Maller. I am super proud of all of these guys for everything that they’re doing in the creative space, and I hope this is a trend that continues. NEW: TYPE DESIGN DEGREE

Students at the Cooper Union in New York will attend classes as part of a new masters degree program in typeface design called Type@Cooper.
