Norb Brylsky (Pantographer) Illustration

A really expressive illustration of Norb Brylsky, a master Pantographer who volunteers his time at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The pantograph is a tool where blanks can be cut into wood type at varying sizes.

I’ve been told that this illustration was done by Jim Moran’s father or brother back in 2001, (Jim is the current singular employee at the museum.). The date under the image actually made me think Norb had passed. Good thing he hasn’t. His now rare talent is an asset to Hamilton.

You can see an interview or two with him in the 2008 documentary “TypeFace”

I believe he was 83 when he was interviewed for the movie. I could be wrong.
